FSOT and GRE
So people who belong to the Future Peace Corps Volunteer Group Page on Facebook, often talk about FSOT. So today I was curious. FSOT stands for Foreign Service Officer Test. I did research and it sounds interesting. The career track which I would want to pursue would be a "Consular Officer". Here is a website with more information: http://www.careers.state.gov/officer/selection-process. I haven't decided anything and I probably won't however doing research on what could be my future is fun. I also did research on the GRE test. I haven't taken it yet, but I'm trying to decide if I should take it before leaving for my service, while serving or when I return. Researching seems to be my best bet as of right now, looking at the various options I have.

Anticipation
Last time I emailed the Peace Corps, I was told I would know more before February. Here is it almost mid-December and I am still waiting for medical pre-clearance. Who know this process who take forever. So many things run through my mind. I'm always thinking about what my site will be like and how I will keep entertained, not only on a daily basis, but also with whatever my job will be. The anticipation of not knowing keeps my mind running wild. So until I hear anything, my thoughts will keep running wild, my future is unknown at this time.

September Update
The Peace Corps re-opened secure website. I turned in some paperwork in the middle of August and am patiently waiting to hear from placement. The next step is to be Pre-Cleared Medically. Once that has happened, I will receive my invitation, when I must accept or decline. Obviously I will most likely accept, because I really want to leave as soon as possible. Once I have accepted, I will know my exact departure date, the county I will be in and what I will be doing. So it'll be everything all at once. There will be a lot of waiting after that. This process has been going on for almost 9 months, yet seems like years already. At times, I start to second guess my choice. However, I know deep down this is what I want.
I currently am packing up my things, because once again, my parents and I are moving into a different house. Well, while packing, I found My Life Plan.
Life Plan
1. Travel the World
2. Have a good career
3. Adopt
Yes, that was all that was listed, well there were countries which I wanted to adopt from, because when I wrote that, I wanted to have a child from each continent, including a child of my own. So, yep, that was My Life Plan!
I hope to update soon about my INVITATION!!!

Nomination!!!!!
I finally know what I was nominated for on June 12th. I was nominated to leave June 2013 for the Pacific Islands working as a Primary Education Teacher Trainer. June is less than a year away. This will give me an opportunity to make sure I am ready financially and physically to head to another country for 27 months. I now have to wait until mid-August to hear from Medical, because the Peace Corps is in the process of revamping the application and will be down from mid-July to mid-August. However, from what I understand it should make the medical process easier. Well that's it for now.

Update on Nomination
So I recieved my nomination on June 12, 2012. However, I do not know where I was nominated for. The Peace Corps is in the process of chaning the application form(s), mainly for medical, which is my next step. So until that process is completed on August 15th, I will not hear anything further. I am a bit upset about it all, but I'm also trying to think about it being what's best. This time will allow me to get my wisdom teeth pulled and the root canal I need. It also gives me time to pay some bills. But there is a down side, I so ready to get out of here. I want to leave and experience something new. Had I known I wouldn't leave until 2013, I could have went ahead and applied for Advance Standing Master's of Scoial Work Program and had I been submitted into the program, I could have had my Master's degree by May of 2013. But now it is too late and I've decided just to take a course or two at State College of Florida, which after recieveing my A.A. from them, you think would be a bit easier than it has been. I have to reapply, even though I took two courses there last fall and recieved a degree from there. I also have to submit an offical transcript from FGCU and resubmit a Florida Residency form (for the third time in four years). It's becoming a lot of work, just to take classes for fun or to be a Non-Degree Seeking student. Well that is about it for now. Hopefully August will be here soon, so that I can get on with the next step of the Peace Corps process.

Starting new
Today is June 2nd and I am patiently waiting to hear about my nomination from the Peace Corps. I guess I should tell you a little bit about myself and my decision to join the Peace Coprs. I recently graduated with my Bachelor's of Social Work. I am currently working in a childcare center as a substitute teacher. My passions do include children and travel. I have traveled a lot throughout my 23 years. A few summers ago I had the opportunity to travel to Uganda ans Ethiopia. Since that trip, I knew I wanted to be a world traveler. About 3 or 4 years ago I first looked into the Peace Corps, however did not have the experience or education quite yet. Sometime last fall my parents asked if I had thought about the Peace Corps, it was at that time I knew it would be okay to begin the process of applying. I waited a few months, then in late December I began the process. I knew it would be a long process, however I didn't except to be waiting on my nomination for almost 4 months now. My recuriter had told me back in February during my interview I should hear from him in May. Well May has come and gone and nothing. I emailed my recuriter half pway thriugh May and he said he hopes I hear from him in the biginning of June, so hear I am patiently awaiting my nomination. I hope to hear and will share when I do.
